Addiction poem

It was dark when you found me
Dark, lonely, and utterly monotonous
You were just killing time
As if time could be killed
Don’t come near me
I will break your heart
Many times over
Without uttering a word
I will pierce your dreams
Tantalisingly close
Never close enough
I am addiction
Speaking truth like fiction

You sought me
I’m sorry
